Benton Fermentation Eye Cream Review

It’s inevitable that fine lines and wrinkles will slowly start to become visible as we age. In Korea, young women particularly in the showbiz industry are already including anti-aging products in their early 20s. I’ve noticed this whenever I would watch Korean reality shows as well as K-Beauty & Skincare Vloggers in my spare time. This is not surprising since appearance is very important in the Korean entertainment industry.

I’ve started researching heavily on what anti-aging products I’m supposed to be using at my age. I’m in my mid 20’s and what I noticed over the last few years is that I was more conscious on what skincare products I use and would spend more on them rather than makeup. I guess it was because of how K-beauty has influenced me and so I’ve started my journey in using anti-aging products last 2018.

When it comes to anti-aging, prevention is better than cure as they say. In my quest of hunting out the best anti-aging products in the market, I was deciding between the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II or the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream and after careful consideration I chose the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream. I’ve seen reviews that the product didn’t give any harsh reactions because what I have always been worried about eye cream products is that some of it tend to cause milia and let’s be real here we don’t want that on our skin.

About the brand:

Benton is famous for its best-selling products which are the Benton Fermentation Essence and Snail Bee High Content Lotion. The brand name was inspired by the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” where the main character (played by Brad Pitt) suffers from a rare ailment wherein he ages backwards. He had to leave his lover Daisy (played by Cate Blanchett) because of the disease and with that concept in mind Benton aims to help keep your skin youthful with the use of their products.

The brand is part of the Clean Beauty movement in Korea since they provide natural quality ingredients that are dermatologically tested and cruelty-free.

The Benton Fermentation Eye cream is recommended for:

  • Sensitive/ Dry Skin
  • Anti-aging
  • Dull Complexion

Main Ingredients:

  • Galactomytes Ferment Filtrate is a by-product of fermented sake that originated in Japan. This ingredient is used in skincare products since its beneficial use is to help brighten and provide hydration to the skin as well as delay the signs of ageing.
  • Bifida Ferment Lysate another fermented ingredient that helps soothe skin inflammation, reduces dryness and improve skin elasticity.
  • Ceramide / SH-OLIGOPEPTIDE-1 helps combat the signs of ageing, restore moisture, reinforce the skin’s natural barrier and protects your skin from everyday environmental stressors such as air pollution, UV rays and sun damage.
  • Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil is full of antioxidants and other skincare benefits. This ingredient helps hydrate, soothe and moisturizes the skin and create natural barrier protection.

How to use:

Use the product after cleanser, toner and essence. Squeeze out the product then pat it lightly around the eye area.

Product:

The packaging is in a tube type container so it’s very easy to apply and convenient since you can easily bring this for when you go to the office or travel. The product itself has a thick yet creamy texture and easily absorbs on to the skin.

I have been using this since February of 2018 and I haven’t notice any changes on my under-eye area, It also didn’t help with my dark circles but it did moisturize and hydrate it. A little goes a long way with this product as this lasted me for more than a year and I’m happy to say that this didn’t have a bad reaction to my skin.

Will I be repurchasing?

No. I’ve been using this for 2 years and I haven’t seen any changes so I’m still on the hunt for a different eye cream product. 😎

My Updated Skincare Routine

I’ve been being serious about my skincare routine lately, I’ve recently bought a serum from Althea.Kr which is the It’s Skin VC Effector Serum and I AM IN LOVE WITH IT! Adding a serum definitely made a huge improvement on my skin. Let me tell you more about my updated skin care routine below:

My skin care routine is nothing fancy, it’s just Cleanse + Serum + Treatment + Eye Cream.

First, I cleanse with the Biore Skin Care Cleanser. I’ve always used the Ponds Acne Clear Solutions or the Smooth Pores variant but when I turned 23, my skin started getting red after I use it or I get weird bumps on my face. I guess it’s because they’ve altered the ingredients and my skin isn’t liking it. I discovered the Biore Cleanser on a trip to Singapore. Click this link here to know more about the product. I can say over time this  made my skin baby smooth and clear though it isn’t good when you try to remove heavy makeup. I might be trying other variants of the Biore Skin Care range soon because of this one.

I don’t really use toner anymore as my philosophy in Skin care and Make up in general is The lesser the better. I don’t want to clog my pores with too much product. So after the cleanser I apply the It’s Skin VC Effector Serum, it made a huge improvement on my skin. The effects aren’t immediate but as I kept using it I noticed my face becoming brighter and more vibrant. I have a hard time sleeping at night so I’m usually bangag *lol but when I put this baby on it doesn’t make my face look tired in the morning, instead it looks plump and healthy. After waking up you’ll notice that you have a selfie ready face, at least for me.

Last but not least I apply the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream. I’m now incorporating anti-aging products onto my skin cause let’s face it hun’ I’m not getting any younger by the minute so it’s best to apply anti-aging product as early as possible. I noticed this product easily absorbs on the skin once you apply it, I’m not seeing any difference yet as I only used it thrice a week because I’m afraid of getting milia. My eyes do get itchy after applying this. I will update you soon if this product did any improvement on my skin.

For pimples,  I apply the Human Nature Tea Tree as it minimizes my pimples really well until it’s no longer there. It’s one of my HG product!

For exfolation, I use the Innisfree Pore Volcanic Clay Mask twice a week. Innisfree is one my favorite skin care brand, I’am hoping they’ll have a store here in Manila! You can know more about this awesome product on my review here.

Hope you enjoy the post! I’ll be doing a review for the Benton Eye Fermentation Cream and It’s Skin VC Effector Soon.
