Sephora’s Best-Selling CC Cream: Erborian CC Crème Review

Ever hate the sticky-icky feeling of wearing a foundation or just simply hate wearing Foundation or BB Cream? Well, today I’ll be introducing you to the Erborian CC Crème, a product that’s perfect for girls who doesn’t like the wear and feel of a foundation. The Erborian CC Creme is a Korean-French beauty brand. I.AM.IN.LOVE. with this product let me just tell you, whenever my friends buy something from Sephora Philippines I ask for the samples of Erborian CC Creme. If you haven’t heard of Eborian yet, it’s a beauty brand that was created by Hojung Lee, a Korean scientist and Katalin Berenyi, a Parisian beauty globetrotter they both teamed up to create the Korean-French beauty brand, Erborian. Its East meets West beauty makes the best of both worlds with this brand as it aims to provide women with beautiful flawless skin that’s luminous, radiant and youthful with their unique formulas incorporate natural ingredients and cutting edge technologies from Seoul.

Ingredients:

-Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate / Octinoxate, Ethylhexyl salicylate/octisalate, Titanium dioxide, Zinc oxide: Sunscreens.

Water, Cyclomethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Methyl Trimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Ci 77492/Iron Oxides, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Magnesium Sulfate, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Centella Asiatica Extract, Mel/Honey Extract, Mica, Talc, Trihydroxystearin, Butylene Glycol, Polyester-1, Aluminum Hydroxide, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Methicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Fragrance, Hexyl Cinnamal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Eugenol, Limonene, Ci 77491/Iron Oxides, Ci 77499/Iron Oxides.

It is formulated WITHOUT:

Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.

Product and Packaging:

I’ve never been a foundation loving girl myself as I hate putting on foundation because it’s noticeable and I hate the sticky, heavy feeling especially when it’s super hot. I usually want something that’s light yet with great coverage and the answer to that was the Erborian CC Crème, I discovered the product thru a sample from Sephora. I’ve noticed that after I applied it on my skin, it evened out my skin tone, blurred my pores and gave me a natural, flawless look even without wearing a BB Cream! Like literally a Kpop stars’ skin, I was literally sold! This product is infused with Centella Asiatica, Tiger Grass, Honey Extract and Vitamin E that helps to boost radiance, protects the skin from the sun’s harmful rays at the same time hydrates the skin. It also helps to blur the fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a soft and radiant, flawless look. Continued use will result to a more refined skin texture. Oh and did I say that this is suitable for all skin types? tumblr_inline_mjs0b4ee2p1qdlkyg

The packaging comes in a tube that’s super easy to dispense and a little goes a long way with this one.

Shades and Application:

The Erborian CC Crème has two shades, one is Dore/Universal shade and Clair. I was unsure on how to choose the shade but since the it says on the description Universal then I just decided to choose it and thankfully it was the just the right shade for me. But after researching I checked that the Dore/Universal shade is for lighter skin while Clair is for Medium to Tan skin tones.

Don’t let the white shade fool you as when you blend this it turns into a different shade that matches your skintone like Magic~~

While I was applying the product, the scent is similar to a sunscreen but it’s not that strong. I find that the formula is very easy to blend and lightweight and voila! It evened out my dull skintone, neutralized my redness and blurred out my pores. With foundation I find the ends of my nose get really dry but with this, it didn’t do that I just had to pat my nose as I get really oily on the T-zone after several hours.

RESULT:

Apologies for the uneven eyeliner as I was trying out a new eyeliner and I wasn’t used to the pen grip that’s why the line looks weird.

Final Verdict:

I never really use CC Creme’s as I find some products I’ve used before were really lightweight, didn’t cling to my skin very well and didn’t cover anything but with this it just gave me a positive look in using CC Creme’s in the future. It gave me that flawless, poreless, korean skin look, I’d say I will definitely repurchase! Have you every tried to use the Erborian CC Crème? Comment down below, I’d love to know! tumblr_inline_mjs0b8TvcQ1qdlkyg

Sanrio – Econeco Little Twin Stars BB Cream SPF 35 PA ++ (Light Beige)

I’m finally back with a new review! And this time i’ll be reviewing the Sanrio x Econeco Little Twin Stars BB Cream!

Packaging:

This was one of the products I bought from Sasa because of the cute packaging! Its packaging was designed by a Japanese artist named Econeco who incorporates pastel colors on her artworks. She is famous for her fairytale illustration series in Japan. Check out her page here: https://www.facebook.com/econeco/?fref=ts

I admit I immediately fell in love with her artwork! I love the dreamy, whimsical, pastel style she uses into her art.

The product comes in a tube type packaging which for me is unhygienic because I use this BB cream everyday. When you squeeze the bottle it gives you the right amount of product you need but it leaves a little amount of product on the opening so it’s a hassle to wipe it everyday since I need to do my makeup in a hurry and I don’t have time to wipe it off. That’s the only downside for me.

Scent:

Smells like Sunscreen.

Price: HKD $75

Where to buy:
Sasa

Product Description:

The characters on the packaging are all in Japanese so I got the description from Alphabeauty :

“ECONECO” is one of the famous “fairy tale” illustration series in local Japan. It now turns into powder makeup series. Contains soft focus powder for pore coverage. Absorb excessive sebum and leave the makeup long lasting. Contains 13 plant ingredients and collagen for nourishment and with aroma oil scent. Preservative free. With the exclusive limited release design, rare-to-find.

Product and Swatch:

There was a sample displayed on the kiosk and there are only 2 shades of this so I swatched both of it and Light Beige matched my skin tone.

Bare-faced

With product

The product easily blended onto my skin and as you can see on the photo above it covered my redness, under-eye circles and pimples since it has heavy coverage. It kind of reminds me of the Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte.

Anyway I don’t need any concealer at all! It has SPF 35 which I like but I still use my Biore Watery Essence underneath. I love that this product has a soft matte finish and oil control is definitely good! It’s long-lasting and easy to rinse off as well, a perfect product for everyday wear.

I love the flawless finish it gives. This is also perfect for people  with oily skin. I didn’t need to blot my face for 5 hours and it doesn’t give you that gross-dewy sheen on your face, it’s like a good kind of dewy sheen.

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this BB cream. I really wish I bought an extra one!

What do you guys think? Feel free to leave a comment~ 🙂

Hong Kong 2016: Makeup & Skincare Haul

Hey guys! I just got back from my trip to Hong Kong! It was my first time abroad and I think that the place is similar to Baguio (lol) cause of its mountainous areas but more evolved obviously. The trip there was amazing! We had a blast exploring Hong Kong, visiting Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong. I’m going to post about my travels there in a seperate blog post and a video post as well, so stay tuned for that! Random fact: I found out that Hong Kong is one of the two special administrative region (SAR) of China. I did this research out of curiosity because I thought Hong Kong is a country. Anyway, I splurged a little during my trip there. A LITTLE because my boyfriend was there to stop me from getting my wallet bankrupt. I tend to go overboard when shopping heehee. I bought most of these from SaSa  (Yeah, I went crazy there), Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong.

Too bad I wasn’t able to get the Sailor Moon compact powder! It’s crazy expensive! It costs around HK$400!! But I read reviews that its packaging was flimsy so in the end I didn’t get it. There was also a Cardcaptor Sakura Blush and Lip balm set there which I didn’t bother to know the price or even touch it. OH GOD IF I LIVED HERE MY MONEY WOULD BE WASHED DOWN THE DRAIN FROM BUYING LIMITED EDITION ANIME COSMETICS!

I bought the Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara because I heard from a beauty vlogger that this was a very good eyelash mascara. Can’t remember which though, It was either Bubzbeauty/Anne Clutz. I tend to binge watch them a lot.

Most of the things I bought at SaSa were on sale but I think that’s just how they lure their customers. When A’PIEU announced their collaboration with Rilakkuma months ago I WAS STOKED! Rilakumma is my favorite cartoon character and I knew had to get one! There are a lot of Korean cosmetic companies that are collaborating with cartoon characters and admist all of them Rilakkumma caught my eye. Oh Korea, Y U DO DIS? tumblr_inline_miw4wvwSFp1qz4rgp

This is my first time trying a product from A’PIEU and I will be reviewing their Rilakumma x A’PIEU Airfit Cushion Foundation! tumblr_m9gcr4ZOvq1qzckow

Packaging:

The packaging IS. SO. CUTE. No doubt about it! As expected with this BB cushion the casing is bulky and opening the product is the same as any other BB Cushion out there. The product comes with an extra applicator puff with a Rilakkuma design on it too and an extra refill.

Inside the puff

Somehow it creeps me out when I stare onto those holes for long periods of time. It reminds me of Etude House’s BB Cushion posters at the mall. Like I literally don’t want to look at it but you have no choice because it’s a big ass poster. But then the holes creep you the eff out.

Scent:

The product has some sort of fresh floral, fruity kind of smell. My nose is really sensitive to smell (I kid you not, I can smell and know what you ate when you talk to me. Really weird I know. Don’t judge me.) so the scent is bearable for me.

Price:

Php 966.00

Ingredients:

The shades that are available are #21 and #23. I chose Shade No. 23 so that it looks natural on my skin tone.

Here is a swatch of the product:

20160801_151544
As you can see on the photo above it dries to a matte finish and easily absorbed onto my skin.

Application & Result:

DSC_0292Here is my bare face with no primer. I have a couple of bumps, acne and slightly bit of redness which is not noticeable on the photo.

DSC_0293Here is an application of the product. dun-dun-dun-dun le ghost~ tumblr_inline_mjs0afSkWq1qdlkyg

Notice that the product is too light for my skin tone. I panicked a little on this but I waited for it to oxidize onto my skin. There’s also a hint of grey undertone on the product.

DSC_0295 Here is the product in full application.

On the last photo, It didn’t cover my acne however it did hide my under-eye circles and my redness but I still think this product still needs the use of a concealer. I also love the applicator puff since it gives a lot more product on my face than the one I use which is the Laneige applicator puff so a little goes a long way with this product. The foundation feels lightweight on my skin as if I’m not wearing anything. You can also notice that it oxidized on my skin pretty well and matched my skin tone perfectly however the foundation has a slightly dewy finish which I don’t like since the weather here is humid. I tested this product out a few days ago and I actually used a finishing powder to tone down the dewy look and for the product not to slide down my face because I have an oily fez especially on the T-zone and the day that I tried this was when I went to the mall. It was humid and hot then it rained. It was a humid mess. For oily skin people, I think you need to use a blotting paper at least once or twice a day with this one. I can say that it stayed on my skin for 9 hrs. but it looked oily after a couple of hours and I was a greasy mess that day.

DSC_0299

You’ll also notice that it provides a lot of coverage and gave my skin a healthy-looking, glowing complexion.

DSC_0300

Overall, I think the product is amazing! I’d use this for everyday wear or events. I love the applicator puff, the coverage especially since it hid my eye bags without any concealer and the cute packaging!  I just don’t like the slight dewy finish it gives since I have oily skin so by all means I avoid anything with that kind of application. I also highly recommend that you use a finishing powder or whichever powder you prefer to set this product. I also think that this product suits people who have Normal to Dry/Combination skin.

Thank you for checking out my review! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Feel free to leave a comment. tumblr_inline_mjs0b4ee2p1qdlkyg

Banila Co. Prime Primer in Matte Review

Today, I will be reviewing the Banila Co. Prime Primer in Matte which I got from my Althea Beauty Box. Banila Co. is popularly known for their primers, I found out about them back when one of my favorite bias, Jessica Jung was their brand ambassador. I’m just new to using a primer but I will blog my honest opinion about it.

Banila Co GIFT Trial3

The Banila Co. Prime Primer has 5 variants that can address a specific skin type. I chose the Prime Primer in Matte which is for oily skin. The box doesn’t have any english text so I just got the description from the Althea Korea Philippines website:

“Clean, satin-finish formula that minimizes the appearance of shine, pores and fine lines, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application. Recommended for those with large pores and uneven skin surface.”

It claims to help minimize the pores and provide a smooth-satin finish while reducing sebum so makeup can easily adhere to the skin with its clear and silky texture. Recommended for people with large pores and uneven skin tone.

giphy

Onto the product! The packaging imo looks elegant. I love how the bottle is in mint since it’s one of my favorite colors. It has a pump that comes with a cap which is useful and very hygenic. It’s also convenient to take it anywhere but I hate how loose the cap is though, I think I prefer the cap from the old version.

As you can see from the photo above, The product has a gel like texture and after spreading, it becomes clear and transparent. I did notice that it had white clumps after I spread it maybe because I applied too much. I would apply a pea-sized amount of this because I learned that after several applications, a small amount of this product can go a long way. I focus the application more on my T-zone since it’s where I get oilies and sweat a lot on the nose (ew, right).

Once I applied it, I noticed that it blurred out my pores and made my skin a lot smoother but it’s not mattifying. I had a pimple on my cheek and it definitely blurred it out a little. After that, I applied the Loreal True Match Liquid Foundation then set it with the Loreal Mat Magique BB Veil. I have tried and tested this numerous times in the hot and humid weather especially the time when we had to walk in the heat while the sun was shining down on me. I can say that oil control is up to five hours then I had to blot a little and touch up my foundation. It did make my makeup last HOWEVER since the product is too oily and silky, my Loreal True Match Liquid Foundation decided to slide down my oily and sweaty nose then ruin the Canmake blush I had on. I have a really oily T-zone, so it started mixing with the foundation and blusher which looked like a sweaty mess. My makeup didn’t adhere to this that much. I guess this product just isn’t for the Philippine weather.

Here is after having a total makeover. Thoughts?

What about you guys? Have you tried any Banila Co. Prime Primer variants before? Feel free to leave a comment below. tumblr_inline_mjs0b4ee2p1qdlkyg

Opening My Althea Korea Beauty Box!

Before, I would just covet cute Korean beauty items on international websites or just drool on them while watching Get It Beauty. Even just scrolling, pinning or reblogging them on my account made my day. But Thank goodness for Althea Korea for fulfilling every K-beauty geeks’ dreams!

Althea Korea is an online shopping website that offers a variety of Korean cosmetics at a CHEAPER PRICE as they ship their products directly from South Korea.

They have a wide selection of Korean beauty brands like Innisfree, IOPE, Mamonde and other hard-to-find Korean cosmetics. Keep in mind that their items sell out quickly these days so a brand, like for example, Peripera might disappear on the website for a while but if you wait a few days it will re-appear.

Anyway, I love that Althea Korea gives awesome offers and great discounts. They also give you free shipping once your order reaches Php 1,500 and above!

The shipping was pretty fast since I ordered it last week and it came after 4 days. I have to remind you that you should leave an I.D or authorization letter when you’re not at home. As my mum had to scavenger the house for my I.D. tumblr_inline_miw4wvwSFp1qz4rgp

And now, here are the items that I ordered. *Drumroll

DSC_1101

I love that the packaging is all pink and it was pretty secured. The items inside were actually housed in a bubble wrap with pink paper maches, I just had to remove it immediately because I got excited. tumblr_inline_mm2wb67mxJ1qz4rgp

DSC_1099

I got the Too Cool For School Marshmallow Puff, since I really don’t get the hype on Beauty Blenders and IMHO I wouldn’t pay for such a thing since It’s just a sponge so I found something cheaper! This cute puff! tumblr_inline_mm2wbaeqQM1qz4rgp

DSC_1100

This Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner has been highly raved by so many beauty bloggers and is a dupe for the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. I’ve been looking for an eyeliner to replace my Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner since it’s almost out so I chose this one from Tony Moly. I’ve already used it and I finally understand the hype! I like that it dries off to a matte finish and is freakin’ waterproof! Seriously, I washed my face two times for this so I can say it’s pretty durable and smudge-proof.

DSC_1097

I was actually looking for a primer and since I know that Banila Co. is pretty well known when it comes to their base makeup, I had to purchase their Prime Primer in Classic Matte!

Itsskinmacaronpink_althea

A lot of beauty shopping websites I know sell this but I got really, well..confused on the price since it varies from Php 360-Php 400 for a lip balm! It’s so expensive! So when I saw this on Althea Korea my little marshmallow heart exploded! It’s a win-win for me since this is It’s Skin’s limited edition Macaron Tinted Lip & Cheek. And it’s so cute!!~ tumblr_inline_miw4x8Aknb1qz4rgp

I was pretty satisfied with my Althea Korea shopping experience! If you want to check out more of their products just visit them heretumblr_m4i9clAQzc1qdlkyg

My Current Favorite Compact Powder/ BB Cushion

I have a serious love for compact powder/face powder since I was young. I never go out of the house without it. I figured since I have a growing compact powder collection, I want to share with you guys what I thought about it or if it works for me.

12362478_979666012080163_1895226718_n

Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

This is my first ever BB cushion since I’am tired of the liquid type BB cream plus Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream breaks me out. Note that, some ingredients in Korean makeup do not always agree with your skin. So test the product first before buying.

I purchased this because of the good reviews and hype about it. I got the shade #23 which was the right shade for my skin tone. I was thinking of getting this or their Laneige BB Cushion Whitening Holiday Collection but the sales lady said that it was for Dry/Combination skin. Sad. So I bought this instead. The BB cushion is perfect for people with oily skin and has a semi matte finish. It made my skin looked photoshopped, seriously. I had a couple of acnes on my face but it blurred it out and I don’t even have to use concealer. It is perfect for the humid weather here in our country. It’s also long lasting since I used this on my trip to Tagaytay and I don’t have to retouch that time while doing activities outside. Maybe it was because of the cool weather. Anyway, long lasting effect is excellent. For a Php 1,955 compact this was a great buy since it will last months and has a free refill. Overall, It delivers what it promised and i’m totally in love with this!

L’Oreal Mat Magique BB Veil

The Lorea’l Mat Magique BB is my everyday go to compact powder. I also heard a lot of great reviews about this so I immediately bought it without any second thoughts and it was on sale at that time. It was originally priced at Php 390 and I got it for Php 300. I also heard a lot of people have some issues with the packaging, well some do, others don’t. As for me, i don’t like it. I hate that the after I use it some powder on the puff will stick onto the mirror after opening it and also how the puff is on the bottom. It’s very inconvenient whenever i’m rushing to put on my makeup. Overall, that’s my only issue with the product. The powder is perfect for oily skin and leaves a semi-matte finish. It gives medium – full coverage and I love the effect it gives, my skin looks poreless and I don’t need to retouch for 5 hours. The shade I got is G1 which looks so light on me so i’m going to buy a shade that matches my skin tone once i’m all out of this. I don’t know why salesladies would always give me a shade lighter than my skin tone. lol

Etude House BB Magic Pact

If you’re a long time reader of mine I think you recognize this one. I was looking for a setting powder for my BB Cream so the sales lady at Etude House recommended this for me. It was too light for me though so I use it as a highlighter which works wonders for me and does a pretty good job. I only use a small amount of this when going to events.

What about you guys? What’s your favorite BB Cushion/ Compact powder?

Leave a comment below and tell me what you think.
